fun at IFBcon

Last Wednesday, I was so excited to be a part of the Independent Fashion Blogger Conference. The event was a time to gather, celebrate a common theme (fashion blogging!) and hear great advice from renowned experts. I arrived a few minutes late (took the wrong train), but luckily everyone was still getting settled. A stylish shelter from the terrible rainy weather, inside Milk Studios was bright and dry.

During the entire conference, KMS California and Magnum Ice Cream Bars were set up to curl, pin, paint and buff for all the bloggers in attendence. I loved having my hair styled by Shawna Parvin, who somehow turned rain-soaked frizz into silky Veronica Lake curls. She was a miracle worker!

Magnum Ice Cream Bars took beauty to the next level with Minx and Nails Inc. manicures by Lisa Logan and her team. I unfortunately have little stubs for nails (I have a terrible habit of biting), but I looked on at all the shiny, gold-embossed fun. They even offered little gift bags with a cute nail file and gold crackle polish by Nails Inc. I love good branding, and the Magnum Ice Cream Bar in double caramel flavor made the experience even sweeter.

Aldo was also on hand to provide a shoe fix, with a fun roulette game and gambling props.

One of my favorite panels was "Balancing Act: Business & Blogging" with Grechen Cohen, Natalie Suarez, Annie Tomlin, Aimee Song, Kristina Medhus, Ari Goldberg and Coco Rocha.

...and of course, Joe Zee, Creative Director of Elle magazine, and Tina Craig.

I had a really fun day meeting fellow bloggers and hearing from the panelists. I encourage anyone serious about fashion blogging to attend a similar event, if possible. It really puts everything into perspective when you're sitting in a room full of other people interested in the same topic.
